Sleep tight, peeps.

We spend a third of our lives asleep, but do you,
ever wonder why we go to bed accordingly every night?
ever wonder why we sleep at night?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Noone, not even us, ever wonder why we need sleep, or why we sleep.
It has been a traditional routine for us that we had followed diligently since our birth.
Look around you, even animals and plants sleep, one way or another.
Now, does your curiosity just did its job of wanting you to read down?
Feel free. This is one FunFacts post, after-all.

But, we are not going to focus on animals.
Let's focus on humankind, good?

Peeps, please note this: Why do we sleep is still a mystery to us all, even to scientists. This is one unanswerable question.
We are just answering this question with all the available theories.

Most of us acknowledge that sleep makes us feel better. This is one fact that we all cannot deny.
We feel more alert, more energetic, happier, and better able to function after a good night of sleep. The fact that sleep makes us feel better and that going without sleep makes us feel worse explains that sleep might be necessary.
In human, the brain constitutes, on average, just 2 percent of total body weight but consumes 20 percent of the energy used during quiet waking, so these savings have considerable adaptive significance. Besides conserving energy, sleep also invokes survival benefits for humans.
"A reduced risk of injury, reduced resource consumption and, form an evolutionary standpoint, reduced risk of detection by predators."

All-in-all, sleep is good.
So, remember to get your dose of sleep every night.
It's for your own good. And, for all ours too.
Ciao.
