Just below Tunes!

Just last week, I am down Bintulu. How time flies?
It was a short 3D2N trip so we bunked at Tunes, Bintulu.
& there are cafes/restaurants all around Tunes.
We had no worries of where to fill up our tummy, at all. (:

For example;
Just below Tunes, you have Ipoh Towh Kopitiam!
So called all-new-MEGA-MENU.
Or is it that I haven't paid IPK a visit for quite a while?
The menu pages are rugged, must be from all the customers' constant flipping due to hesitation of what to order, right?
We are that bunch too, having no idea what to eat at all.
& so we flipflipflip.
Specialty toast - Tuna Sandwich RM4.50
This is good, for a starter. They blended some spicy chili sauce in to the tuna paste, now you wouldn't had guess that eh!
That is how it "opens" appetites. Crunchy toast + creamy paste = heavenly.

When we are half way through with the sandwiches, the drinks baru sampai!
Needless for me to comment on their services, y'know.
Chocolate blended with ice cream RM5.90
An icy treat for oneself during a scourging hot day.
& i thought they would prepare it in some posh-high-cups and a spoon! Sigh.
Honey lemon juice (cold) RM3.20
A drink that helps to wash some unwanted fats in the body somewhere! (self-comforting)
Mushroom Chicken Rice Bowl with Egg. RM6.30
Gotta love the aromatic chicken pieces with that piece of egg-cellent egg! Tempting!
Black-pepper Chicken Rice Bowl with Egg. RM6.30
Luckily this is not too spicy for my taste bud. It's mild.
Again, with a sexy egg. (:
Ginger Chicken Rice Bowl with Egg. RM6.30
You can see, obviously, they were kiam on the ginger slices.
But fear not, the taste of the sauce is dense with ginger.
Ipoh Town Nasi Rendang Chicken Rice RM7.00
*salute* this dish is too spicy for me. But it's good. Really!
You ought to try it out whenever you visit 'em, their nasi lemak series is good. ;)

As side treat, visit SunnyBoy for his post on holiday boredom! ;)
He sure is on his way of sharpening his photography skills!

Off to holiday treats until mid-September!

Eating it the right way!

[NON-HALAL post]

Don't said we didn't warn you all.

So here it goes.
There is this newly opened Filipino cafe just opposite the Parkcity mall in Bintulu, yes, Bintulu.
& being curious of how it would turn out, we head down just before heading back campus again.
The name of the restaurant.
It is simply easy to locate. Just outside the entrance of the Parkcity mall.
& Bintulu has only one big, at the moment.
The front page of the menu, looks very promising, really.
Besides pork, there is chicken/beef/kambing/seafood, anything to everything.
& oh, you can immediately spot a real-life grilled pork in front of the shop.
It's like they're showing off their gold or something with the pork.
Look look look?
The colour of the pork is just, salivating!
1st served, some sauce to make things even better.
One spicy sauce & one sweet sauce.
& ordered some fresh lemon drinks to cool & detox all the porks that we're eating up.
It's somehow self comforting, to eat & to detox at the same meal.
& who said we did not eat our vegetables?
Here it is, long beans, vegetable, right?
Although practically, they are beans.

Down comes the main courses.
We ordered an all-pork course.
All pork is good!
Deep fried pork ribs!
Even though this turned out to be quite tasteless, but no worries, this is when the sauces kick in.
Dipping into sauce, they taste heavenly & crunchy!
Marinated Pork Satay!
They are L sized!
This is the best, perfect taste, enough sauce on its own.
The last is Grilled BBQ sauce Pork belly.
All in all, 3 main dishes + 1 vegetable.

Just perfect, now we know where to get our dose of pork sensation!
Why not head down Bintulu & try it?
Ciao.

Sightseeing

& walking around with the girl.
We had a lunch date at some random cafe we spotted.
So, in we go & ordered & eat & chat & waste time!
Spotted lemon peng & 3-masam.
Spotted pork rice, marinated egg?, kompian + minced meat.

After lunch, we went to the mall to waste our time.
& this is one random picture.
Spotted Salad Cracker. (just salad on cream cracker, feeling tertipu yet?)

& we waited for evening, we went to the beach!
& spotted someone para-gliding?
It's awesome how one could just glide through the skies & feel free!

We shall end this post with an awesome picture of the pretty pretty pretty skies + beach.
Have a great year ahead, y'all!
Knowing that the sun will always rise again, take courage!

Take cares, ciao!

BKT rock the world.

As usual, anytime when we are back our own hometown, we will fly off to eat the famous BKT (Bak-kut-teh) in our own respective places.
Remeber our last post on BKT? Here it is.

But this time, it's another famous place. Pity we missed taking the signboard's picture!
It's at a cafe called "88 cafe". Next time we will compensate for the signboard. Okay?
Without much more delaying.
Here it is.
Starting with white rice and some "you zha kueh".
"you zha kueh"
And some drinks before the grand bowl of good stuff is served.
(Chinese tea, 100 plus, Lemon)
While waiting for the grand finale, we make ourselves some awesome sauces.
Above - Fresh Minced Garlic + dilute Soy Sauce
Below - Fresh Minced Garlic + Fresh Chopped Chili + dilute Soy Sauce + Soy Sauce pekat

Be prepared, will be bombarded with awesome bowl of goodness, hah!
BKT BKT BKT. (chants)
Just out of the stove, seriously boiling hot, awesome!
Bet you are craving for BKT too?
It's just awesome for brunch!
What can we say? BKT rock the world.

That's a little peek into our long holidays.
Happy December! The season of shopping & giving.
Ciao.

Irresistibly spicy!

[A long lost post.]
This is a place to try in Pasta's hometown.
A place called Seribu Bintang (Thousand Stars).
The outer court of the restaurant.
With a lot of flashing lights, that's how it got its name.
Restoran Seribu Bintang (Thousand Stars Restaurant).
The inter court of the restaurant.
And, noticed a stage where if you think you can perform, go ahead and blast us all off.
A further view of the stage.
We all decided to try the famous teh-c-peng.
Deep Fried Sotong. With special chili paste.
Being a loyal sotong/squid/octopus fan, this is good.
Cheese baked prawns. With a lil shredded eggs.
This is of course a good one, 'cept the part where you have to crack open those stubborn shells and stuffs.
But wait, no pain no gain, right?
What we love most.
With rice and satay, what you get?
Nasi celup satay! (Satay-sauced stir-fried rice).
And a very big portion one, we like.
With egg and rice, what is it again?
Nasi Pataya! (Egg-wrapped stir-fried rice).
Gotta really love that star, don't you?
With tomato paste and beef? You get a curry-based spaghetti.
Honestly speaking, this is one uber weird spaghetti we'd ever tasted in our lives.
Not to miss out, satays! The kambings (lamb), the ayams (chicken), and the lembus (mutton).
Someone once say that, life is good with choices.
And seeing above, we do believe that our life is filled with plenty of good choices and we are happy about it.

Happy Berbuka for the last time this year!
Ciao.
